Pioneer Cemetery

Pioneer Cemetery, originally known as the Masonic Cemetery, lies adjacent to City Hall and the Dallas Convention Center. Buried here are many of the first settlers of the town, including many who lent their names to Dallas streets. A tall Confederate Monument, originally erected in Old City Park in the 1890s, stands in one corner. Nearby is a marker commemorating the life of Dallas founder John Neeley Bryan, who is buried in an unmarked grave in Austin, Texas.
