Harrison Tate's Last Will and Testament

The State of Alabama
Henry County

I Harrison Tate of Columbia Henry County Alabama hereby make this my last will and testament First I direct that my just debts be paid by my executrix herein after named as soon after my Death as may by her be found convenient.

Second I give to my wife the dwelling House and Lot now ocupied [sic] by us as our place of residence during her natural life and at her Death said house and Lot to be sold the proceeds to be divided between my five children now living to wit James M. Tate, I. H. Tate William H. Tate John H. Tate and Thomas L. Tate and the bodily heirs of my Deceased daughter Manervy Jane Smyrl

3rd I give to my wife Mary C. Tate all the Household and kitchen furniture pictures ornaments Books &c. The House on Davis St and now occupied by Jesse Satcher as Tenant is the individual property of my Wife Mary C. Tate. The Title is fully vested in her

4th I give to my wife Mary C. Tate one seventh part of all the personal property presently that we may possess at my Death and the other six-sevenths equally divided between my five now living children to wit James M. Tate, Isaac H. Tate William H. Tate John H. Tate and Thomas L. Tate and the bodily Heirs of Manervy Jane Smyrl my Deceased Daughter her heirs to have one shear [sic] or seventh part of said personal property &

fifth The Store House now owned by me In Columbia Henry County Situated on Main St and now ocupied [sic] by Robert Blackwell [&] Son Merchandise if not sold or disposed of during my Lifetime is to be sold on my Death by my administrator and the money to be equally divided between my five now living children and the children of my Deceased daughter Manervy Jane Smyrl They drawing one seventh and my wife also to have a childs part

I hereby appoint my Wife Mary C. Tate to be Executrix of this will without Bond

In Testimony whereof I hereunto Set my hand and Seal This 12th day of February 1890

Signed and published as his last will by the said Harrison Tate in our presents [sic] and we in his presents [sic] and in the presents [sic] of each other have hereunto subscribed our names as witnesses on The day of The date of Said Will
