USA
SOUTH CAROLINA
Unfortunately, despite the fact that we had a lot of ancestors who lived in South Carolina during the seventeenth, eighteenth, and nineteenth centuries, almost all trace of most of them has been erased by the proverbial "hand of time," leaving very little tangible evidence of their residence. The only counties in which some trace of them can be found are Oconee, Greenville, Laurens, Lexington, Berkeley, and Charleston, but even in some of those places, the evidence is scant.
