Grave of Isabella Coz Hill at Buchanan City Cemetery, Buchanan, GA 30113.


HARRIS COUNTY

Grave of Mary C. Strahan West Tate at Waverly Hall Cemetery, Waverly Hall, GA 31831. The cemetery is located along Georgia Highway 208, east of Alternate US-27, west of Talbotton, Georgia.


JACKSON COUNTY

Where Lowry family (maternal side of family) resided at one time. Nothing specifically family-related to see here.


JASPER COUNTY

Where West family (paternal side of family) resided at one time. Nothing specifically family-related to see here.


MERIWETHER COUNTY

Neil Strahan's Plantation Home on Cedar Rock Road, SE of Greenville. He bought it in 1833 and sold it in 1865. NOTE: Private property, still being used as a residence.


MUSCOGEE COUNTY

Paternal side ancestor Charles West "Westmoreland" Plantation Home and West Family Cemetery, 7400 Warm Springs Road, Midland, GA 31820. NOTE: Private property, still being used as a residence.


PUTNAM COUNTY

Grave of maternal side ancestor Cary Cox, Revolutionary War veteran, at Cox-Griggs Family Burial Ground, Stanfordwille GA 31024.

(Maternal Side) Cary Cox, Jr. Plantation Home, constructed about 1812, now owned by U.S. Forestry Service and known as the Cedar Creek W.M.A. Check Station, on Checking Station Road, about a half-mile west of the interscetion of Checking Station Road and Hwy. 212.


STEPHENS COUNTY

Where Lorenzo Jenkins spent the latter years of his life. Nothing specifically family-related to see here.


WALKER COUNTY

Chickamauga Battlefield National Park, at 3370 Lafayette Rd, Fort Oglethorpe, GA 30742. This is where my great-grandfather Isaac H. Tate saw action as a Private in the 15th Alabama Infanrry Regiment. This is also where ancestor on the maternal side of my family,Sarah Ann Lowry Reed, reportedly nursed Confederate General Ben Hardin Helm (Abraham Lincoln's brother-in-law) until he died, in a makshift field hospital located in her house next to Reed's Bridge. Some of her sons are buried in a small cemetery nearby.
