NEW INTRODUCTION

The webpages that follow constitute a nearly word-for-word copy of the text of my 1994 book, Son of Bethel: Remembering The Texas International Pop Festival, Lewisville, Texas, August 30-September 1, 1969, which I researched and wrote to commemorate the 25th anniversary of that event. Privately published as inexpensively as possible, only a small number of copies were made and with no money for marketing, the book quickly disappeared from view.

In 1996 or thereabouts, I put the book online but took it off again when I decided to try to re-publish it in 1999 for the 30th anniversary of the festival. That never happened, however.

Believing that the appeal of such a book is probably somewhat limited, I have decided to put it online once more, on my Dallas History website. I hope you enjoy reading it. If you were there, it will probably bring back memories. If you weren't there, maybe you will wish you were. ENJOY!
