The Historic Heart: Old Bandshell Site

Immediately in front of the center portico of the Centennial Building, facing the north end of what is now the Esplanade, stood the original Fair Park bandshell. It was constructed sometime between 1910 and 1920. It was demolished during the remodeling of the park for the 1936 Texas Centennial Exposition. During its brief heyday, it was used for outdoor concerts and other programs.
