Okemah, the birthplace and boyhood home of renowed American folk icon Woody Guthrie, is a small town located a little to the east of the center of Oklahoma--about 73 miles east of Oklahoma City and 64 miles southwest of Tulsa. It's about a four hour drive north from Dallas, Texas (distance: 205 miles). Interstate Highway 40 runs east-west just south of town.
