Age of Steam Railway Museum

Age of SteamJust a few yards north of and behind the eastern wing of the Centennial Building is the entrance to the Age of Steam Railroad Museum. Children especially enjoy this outdoor collection of real old steam engines and pullman cars from various railroads. There is even an old trolley car, a wooden train depot building, and a collection of steam whistles with ropes attached for people to pull to hear the different sounds they make. The cost of admission is reasonable and visitors are free to wander through the trains at their own pace.

The museum is owned and operated by the Southwest Railroad Historical Society, a non-profit organization. For more information, visit the Age of Steam web site.
