Photos Needed!

I am hoping to add more historic photos to this Web site and I also need some for my forthcoming book, "From Water Supply to Urban Oasis: A History of White Rock Lake Park." If you have any photos of White Rock Lake Park (particularly from the period 1910-1960) that you are willing to share, I would like to hear from you. I am looking principally for photos that show some of the outdoor activities that are no longer enjoyed at White Rock Lake, such as camping, waterskiing, aquaplaning, swimming, motorboating, motorboat racing, etc.

I am also looking for photos from 1910-1960 that show all or portions of the following:

  • The Bonnie Barge
  • The Bathhouse and Beach
  • The Boathouse
  • The Pump House and Filtration Plant
  • The Dam and Spillway
  • The Old Texas and Pacific Railway Employees Clubhouse on TeePee Hill
  • The Dance Pavilion where Babe Lowry's Rhythm Sweethearts performed in 1934
  • Fishing Shacks
  • Concession Stands
  • Winfrey Point
  • Sunset Inn
  • Big Thicket
  • Dreyfuss Club
  • Any of the Sailing Clubs
  • Fish Hatchery

I am mainly looking for photos of activities and structures that can no longer be seen at the park or, in the case of buildings, have been abandoned or changed from their original purpose.

BEFORE SENDING PHOTOS, please contact me first to see if what you have is something I may want to use. Thanks!
