Bluebonnets on Boy Scout Hill

This hill, overlooking the far southeastern end of the lake was once a favorite camping spot for Boy Scout troops, hence the name. The picnic shelter seen here is a modern version installed in the 1960s or 1970s. An identical shelter stands on a higher rise of land nearby, between Buckner Blvd. and Peavy Road.

In the early spring, bluebonnets bloom on hillside below the picnic shelter.
