William Jenkins [3]
(B. ? - D. 1760)

William Jenkins [3]was the son of William Jenkins [2] and the brother of Francis Jenkins [1]. His date of birth is unknown.

What we know for certain is that William Jenkins [3] lived in Baltimore County, Maryland during the early eighteenth century and that upon the death of his father, William [2],in 1720, he was named in his father's will as heir to the family farm, a 50-acre tract taken from a larger property called "Freeland's Mount," to take effect upon the death of his mother, Sarah. Her date of death, however, is unknown.

We also know that William Jenkins [3] was a member of the Church of England, established as the state church of Maryland in 1702.

William Jenkins [3] married Rachel Balls in Baltimore County, Maryland on August 14, 1726. They had nine children, presumably all born in Baltimore County:

  1. Elizabeth, born November 11, 1727 (married Robert Clark)
  2. Rachel, born October 13, 1729
  3. William, born March 4, 1732 (married Mary Clark)
  4. Mary, born February 27, 1734 (married Samuel Elliott or Emmitt)
  5. Sarah, born October 25, 1737 (married -- Wells)
  6. Martha, born August 3, 1740
  7. Margaret, born August 4, 1744
  8. Francis D.O.B. unknown
(Revolutionary War soldier in 1775 and a minor at the time of his father's death in 1760)
  9. Samuel D.O.B. unknown
(Revolutionary War soldier in 1775 and a minor at the time of his father's death in 1760)

William Jenkins [3] died in 1760, shortly after making his will. Here is his will in its entirety:
